The amount of synth is minimal and inoffensive in this track, as the piano carries the song through the majority of the track. Stranger immediately jumps back into slice-of-life stuff, but it does so with the same kind of feel the first couple tracks of the same nature had.

I donвЂ™t know where you could get the full version, but itвЂ™s a good enough song that itвЂ™s worth looking for.

Immediately following that is another vocal track, Hollow. ThereвЂ™s a certain feeling of intense focus that Fate battle themes tend to have, and this track certainly has that feel, along with warping synth to emphasize how dangerous the enemy is. ItвЂ™s trying to tell you that something beyond you is comingвЂ¦Д®ncounter feels tense and involving, as I would expect from a battle track from this series. Whisper of Darkness is an elegy that starts out sad, then gets more ominous as the track progresses. One could argue that the technology that was available at the time didnвЂ™t have the same quality as todayвЂ™s soundtracks, and I would agree if I hadnвЂ™t listened to soundtrack first.Д«efore long, we get to the tracks that any Fate novel should not go without: the serious tracks. Being a fandisc, I canвЂ™t expect the romance in this novel to be taken as seriously as F/SNвЂ™s, so I guess it works. The track Romance starts making things interesting by adding synthesized vocals and more realistic instruments, although it doesnвЂ™t completely let go of the synth.

This is supposed to be a sequel/fandisc of sorts why are the majority of the tracks so different, perhaps for the worst? ItвЂ™s not that they suck, itвЂ™s just that it feels like such a huge change of tone and effort from the first couple slice-of-life tracks that it just feels like it doesnвЂ™t belong in a Fate novel. Unfortunately, the composers seem to rely on synth too much in the later tracks, and many of the following tracks feel borderline generic as a result. These themes donвЂ™t sound nearly as catchy as the majority of the slow themes from Fate/Stay Night, but thereвЂ™s a bit more substance to them now that the composers have access to better tech.

There are a few instruments added to make it sound a little different, though. Cool Wind follows a similar pattern, almost as if it is an extension of its immediate predecessor on the soundtrack. Using a variety of instruments from the violin to the piano to the tambourine, it creates a soothing, slow-paced song that perfectly captures the daily life of the first act.

Reunion seems to focus on the slice-of-life tone of the initial parts of the story, only it sounds like the composers actually gave a crap instead of making it sound generic. Back to the Night also creates a similar kind of ominous feel to itвЂ™s predecessorвЂ™s title screen theme, complete with the sound of rattling chains. ItвЂ™s a fairly good opening theme, and it does have the kind of feel a Fate visual novel would have. The soundtrack opens with Ataraxia, a vocal song with ambient electronic beats, along with some violins and a piano for occasional variety.

Many talented composers have worked on the Fate series since then, but none of them really stand out as much as Fate/Stay Night Realta NuaвЂ™s soundtrack.ДЄnd Hollow AtaraxiaвЂ™s soundtrack isnвЂ™t going to change my mind anytime soon. When I first read Fate/Stay Night, I was captivated by how well the pieces fit into the scenes presented, and how a good majority of them stood out from outside the game. One of my favorite parts about the Fate series is the music.
